A Soft Lightfall Across Café Windows

Cafe curtain lights turn a glazed wall into an evening backdrop without occupying the dining floor. The reference shows warm white points descending in straight strands behind small round tables and chairs. Tall window frames remain readable between the lights, while reflections add depth to the scene. This arrangement suits a café owner who wants the dining area to feel welcoming from both the seats and the street.

Use the photograph to discuss appearance, rather than to estimate its dimensions or identify electrical equipment. Glass, furniture, flowers and building elements belong to the setting. The supplied lighting configuration must be agreed in the quotation.

Design Around Glass, Reflections and Sightlines

Walk the window line during daylight and after dark before deciding where the top cable should sit. Note opening sashes, blinds, handles, ventilation and access for window cleaning. Position the curtain so it does not obstruct these functions. Check the view from the entrance and from the closest dining table; a display that looks balanced outside can appear much brighter to a seated guest.

For this scene, the main design decision is how much of the glass to cover. A shallow drop leaves more of the street view open; a longer drop creates an illuminated background behind several tables. Make a temporary layout with the intended mounting height before selecting the standard size. Decorative lights should complement the venue lighting used for menus, circulation and staff tasks. Review this café glazing and decorative lighting brief with OSLENA as part of the venue’s decorative lighting brief.

Match the Drop to One of Three Defined Sizes

Dimensions are width × drop height. The standard choices are 3 × 1 m with 120 LEDs, 3 × 2 m with 240 LEDs, and 3 × 3 m with 300 LEDs. Record the size and its LED quantity together in the purchase schedule. More LEDs do not, by themselves, establish a brightness specification or prove that a set will fill a particular window.

Measure the usable width between obstructions and the distance from the support to the planned lower edge. If several bays have different heights, prepare a simple drawing showing each bay instead of ordering one size for the entire room. Custom sizes are available for confirmation; include finished width, drop, quantities and the intended arrangement.

Choose a Café Lighting Configuration

Warm White matches the appearance in the image. White, Blue, Green and RGB are other colour options within the curtain-light range. Select one for the order and review a sample against the café interior, signage and window reflections. A reference photograph is not a colour-temperature measurement and does not guarantee the same camera appearance at every venue.

Cable colour is Transparent. PVC and Rubber are cable-material options to confirm for the selected build. Specify 8 Modes or Steady On and ask how that choice is supplied with the chosen colour and voltage. For a quiet dining background, evaluate Steady On first. Dimming, remote control and mode memory need separate confirmation rather than being assumed from the photograph.

Keep the Supply Plan Separate from the Visual Layout

The input options are 24 V, 110 V, or 220–240 V, supplied as separate configurations. State the destination market and actual site supply. Identify where the controller and any required power equipment can be reached for inspection without moving dining furniture. Confirm plugs, accessories and their inclusion before the order is finalised.

Give the installer a cable route that avoids doorways and staff paths. Plan display sections visually, then agree their electrical arrangement. Do not infer a permitted connection quantity from the number of window bays or from the lengths shown in the photo.

Review the Window Environment Before Installation

The specified protection level is IP44. Include any splash exposure, condensation or cleaning practice in the project brief. Keep lights and electrical equipment clear of water jets and standing water; power accessories and connections require their own suitable placement and protection. An indoor window can still have moisture around glass or opening frames.

If part of the installation extends into an exposed area, provide expected rain, minimum temperature and wind conditions. Ask OSLENA to confirm the complete cable, connector and power arrangement for that exposure. Avoid trapping strands in moving windows or placing electrical joints under mounting tension. Fixings should be suitable for the substrate and reviewed by the installer under local requirements.

Prepare for Cleaning and Seasonal Changeovers

Agree how staff will access the glass before the display goes into service. Isolate the supply before maintenance, inspect for damaged cables or loose connections, and follow the supplied handling instructions. Keep a record of the ordered voltage and accessories so replacement purchasing does not mix configurations.

For seasonal removal, organise sets by window bay and label their storage locations. Let components dry before packing and avoid pulling on joints or making tight cable bends. Ask for packing and handling guidance with the quotation. Carton details, production timing and delivery depend on the confirmed order.

Send a Window-by-Window Procurement Brief

For a useful quotation, send the reference picture, window measurements, mounting height and quantities per size. Add the chosen light colour, voltage, cable material and mode, plus destination market and required plugs or power accessories. Include photographs of opening windows, nearby doors and the proposed equipment position when these affect the layout. State packaging and labelling needs for each café location. Separate different configurations into distinct order lines. Explore the LED Curtain Light range or discuss a coordinated interior through OSLENA project solutions. Buyers sourcing several lighting categories can compare OSLENA’s decorative lighting products alongside the proposed café window curtain configuration.

Buyer Questions About This Café Backdrop

Does the picture show warm white lights?

It shows a warm white appearance. Confirm the selected sample for your interior; the image does not define a measured colour temperature.

Which option covers a low window band?

Consider 3 × 1 m / 120 LEDs after measuring the available drop. For taller coverage, compare 3 × 2 m / 240 LEDs and 3 × 3 m / 300 LEDs.

Can the glass still be cleaned?

Plan access and removal before installation. Keep strands clear of window mechanisms and agree maintenance isolation and handling with the installer.

Is the photographed furniture included?

No. The tables, chairs, flowers and glazing illustrate the setting. The quotation should list the agreed lights and electrical accessories.

Can one set run on every listed voltage?

No. Choose 24 V, 110 V or 220–240 V to match the confirmed supply; these are separate builds.

What if our window widths are different?

Send a bay schedule with width and drop for each location. Custom sizes are available for review and final specification.
